Nearly 40 Friends enjoyed having a private visit to the newly opened exhibition at the Hunterian Art Gallery on Monday 17th October, called “The Afterlife of Mary Queen of Scots”. We were very privileged to be given a tour of the exhibition by it’s curator, Anne Dulau, who described the research behind the exhibition, the different themes explored and some of the artifices on display. There was so much to see that our visit only gave us a taster of the content. It is definitely worth more than one revisit to take in all the different displays and enjoy all the interpretations, including videos and social media posts and contemporary interpretations of Mary.
Our thanks to Anne and all the Hunterian staff for looking after us so well and for the welcome refreshments and biscuits!
